Screen Alliance North is now recruiting

Screen Alliance North (a new BFI Skills Cluster, led by Screen Manchester, Screen Yorkshire, Liverpool Film Office, and North East Screen) is recruiting for two full time roles, to deliver its aims to support development and training of the screen sector workforce across the North of England. The BFI announced six Skills Clusters on 19 April 2023, that have been awarded a total of £8.1 million over three years. Read more about Screen Alliance North here.

Screen Alliance North is now recruiting for the following two  job roles:

  • Skills Cluster Evaluation Manager  (Apply by Tuesday 13th June 2023)
  • Skills Cluster Partnership Lead – (Apply by Wednesday 24th May 2023)

Skills Cluster Evaluation Manager

Hours: Full time (37 hours per week)
Salary: 
£42-£44,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Application Deadline: 
Tuesday 13th June 2023
Location: Duties may be split between home and office, with a minimum of two office days per week. This post can be based at an office in: Sunderland, Hartlepool, Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds, depending on the preference of successful applicant. Regular travel to external partners is also be a key part of the role
Contract: The initial contract for this role is 3 years, fixed term, with a possibility for renewal, dependent on funding

Key Responsibilities – Working with Screen Alliance North partners to:

• Design effective evaluation tools and frameworks across a wide range of activities
• Determine the most appropriate methods of data capture to track KPIs
• Help to design and implement effective methods for participant tracking
• Ensure consistent methods of data capture are in place across activities
• Monitor top-level activity progress against the project schedule
• Lead on producing quarterly progress reports for Skills Cluster activity
• Use quantitative and qualitative Skills Cluster data to help tell a story
• Liaise with external evaluators, where applicable

• Is genuinely enthusiastic about data, monitoring and evaluation
• Understands the importance of data in making a business case
• Knows how to bring data to life in presentations and reports
• Takes a hands-on approach with a strong eye for detail
• Has a demonstrable interest in film and wider screen sectors
• Can communicate well with a range of private, public and community partners
• Shares our values for inclusivity, wellbeing, and environmental sustainability
• Is passionate about and committed to the development of the North of England

Key Responsibilities – Working with Screen Alliance North partners to

• Build key partnerships with screen industry employers
• Champion the Skills Cluster vision and the Charter for Change
• Help identify and secure industry investment for priority skills cluster activities
• Convene and manage the industry advisory group, and take actions forward
• Support development and delivery of the Skills Cluster events programme
• Contribute to Skills Cluster activity reports and publications, including case studies
• Attend key Skills Cluster events at North of England industry hubs

Skills, Qualities and Experience

• Is a proactive, confident relationship-builder and fundraiser
• Understands physical production crewing for scripted film and HETV
• Has awareness of wider screen sectors, eg. unscripted TV, animation, games
• Understands the screen education and training landscape
• Takes a hands-on approach with good organisational skills
• Can communicate well with a range of private, public and community partners
• Shares our values for inclusivity, wellbeing, and environmental sustainability
• Is passionate about and committed to the development of the North of England
