Today we introduce Screen Manchester trainee Esme Watts who in this clip shares a day in her life on the set of the legendary ‘Made in Manchester’ drama series, Coronation Street.
Esme came to us having been heavily involved in the world of theatre where she had already taken on the responsibility of managing props. This skill had, by the time we met, already become a genuine source of enjoyment and an enduring passion for the aspiring TV professional.
An attention to detail and passion for sourcing props coupled with the challenge of working within the confines of budget whilst making purchases are just two of Esme’s skills.
We recognised that the opportunity to oversee this crucial artistic component of a production was something Esme relished and we knew she would be perfect for the Coronation Street placement, especially when we learned that there was an opening for a trainee in the props department.
As you can see from her “Day In A Life At Corrie” Esme’s passion for editing and crafting videos also stands her in good stead for a career in film and TV! This is something she has enjoyed from a very young age. Esme’s ability to hone a range of skills and then transfer them into other settings across the Industry was another of the qualities she demonstrated which meant we knew that this placement was perfect for her!
