The Film and TV Charity’s 2024 Looking Glass Report shows that even though there have been some positive shifts in working culture, mental health in film, TV, and cinema is getting worse.
In 2024, 35% rated their mental health as poor or very poor – up from 24% in 2019. And only 12% think the industry is a mentally healthy place to work, while 63% say the industry has a negative impact on their mental health. And with loneliness, financial worries, job insecurity, and worklessness, a big issue for our workforce, the Charity is urging the industry to step up and help break this cycle.
